Here we are once again, at the dawn of the season for scorching heat. This means panting like dogs until we get our hands on an ice cold beverage and then chugging every last drop. But, an article by Men's Health reports to “Stay Away From Diet Sodas,” which may be one of the farthest drinks for a healthy “diet”.via: 944
In fact, the article reports that guzzling too many of these drinks actually forces out the healthy beverages that the body really needs. Diet sodas are 100 percent nutrition-free meaning there is not one ounce of good for us. Downing more than one diet soda a day is a major no-no because it limits the bodies intake for other and more body beneficial drinks like water and tea.
Need another reason to stay away from diet sodas? Remember all the buzz about sweeteners being bad for you and causing cancer? Well, some of the latest animal research has shown that high amounts of sweetener has been linked to brain tumors and lymphoma in rodents. Although the FDA reports that the sweeteners are safe, they say that people may experience side effects such as dizziness, headaches, memory loss and mood changes. That sounds like just one more stressor to add to the hades heat we will already be dealing with. Blah!
So, it sounds like our best bet is to probably just stay away from these diet sodas or to consume the littlest amount possible, sticking to delicious and good-for-you drinks like juice, water or vodka tonics!
